Course introduction
SkyBlue Jet Aviation offers the full Pilot in
Command and Second in Command type rating
courses
specifically for
the Citation CE-560XL.
This type rating
course leads to either the Pilot in Command or
the Second in Command type rating, and this
type rating will be added to your FAA
Private, Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot
license.
Aircraft information
The Citation Excel is a small to midsize jet.
The first flight of the Citation Excel jet took
place on February 29, 1996
and the prototype was certified by the FAA in
April of 1998.
The first delivery was in the middle of
1998. The aircraft
received an upgrade in avionics and engines and
after the makeover the aircraft was dubbed the
XLS. The current
version, the XLS+, received another upgrade and
has the Collins avionics and more efficient
engines than the
original main XLS.
There are currently over 500 aircraft delivered
from the Cessna manufacturing facility in
Wichita, Kansas. The
aircraft has the best safety record in the
entire Citation line of business jets.
